That I remember about Mom or Granny was her energy and love of being active and helping others. She did not know a stranger and was respected and liked almost like a mom to the delivery men who came to the store because of her soup in the crock pot in the back room when they arrived. I remember the shopping trips for fabric to make a gown for Eastern Star meeting that stretched from Wichita to New Glarus, WS; or hunting for the perfect pair of red shoes to go with a dress for an Eastern Star function that took us to Water Tower Place in Chicago. When she retired from "the store", she was so busy with area agency on aging, hospice and delivering meals to the shut ins or doing the church financial business. How she enjoyed telling of David's and Carol's early years and taking the kids into a cave one vacation she thought she would never get out of. And you did not dare to call her when KU was playing on the TV. An amazing lady. I thank her for the memories and all the German chocolate pie and divinity that she would make"just for me" when we were coming to Moline.
