Olive Juanita Anderson's Obituary
Olive Juanita Anderson, of Howard, KS went to be with the Lord the morning of Friday, January 27, 2017. Juanita was born December 16, 1916 on a farm northeast of Howard, KS; the daughter of David Leslie Anderson and Harriett Elizabeth (Murphy) Anderson. She graduated from Longton High School in 1934 and later obtained a Bachelor’s Degree from Emporia Teachers College in 1959. Juanita began her teaching career as soon as she graduated high school. Juanita never married. She was a loving daughter, sister, cousin, adored aunt, and great-aunt. She was an attentive, loving, and faithful daughter to her elderly father. Juanita’s life was dedicated to serving the Lord, family, and friends. She was a member of the Church of Christ, Eureka, KS, Loyal Limas, Elk/Greenwood County Retired Teacher (Historian), Life Member of State Retired Teachers Association, and volunteered at Howard’s Senior Center.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Dalton Leslie Anderson; sister, Harriett Evalean (Anderson) Finley; brother, Virgil Raymond Anderson; sister, Sylvia Irene (Anderson) Martin; sister, Carlye Leona (Anderson) Taylor; and brother, Luther Max Anderson.
Survivors include: brother, Carl Leo Anderson, Columbia, MO and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 1, 2017 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Countryside Funeral Home in Howard, KS. A Funeral Service will start directly after at 11:30 a.m. with Pastor Sean Clothier officiating. Interment will follow at Grace Lawn Cemetery in Howard, KS. Memorial contributions have been suggested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or The Church of Christ in Eureka, KS and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home. Arrangements have been entrusted to Countryside Funeral Home, 206 E. Washington – P.O. 1233, Howard, KS 67349.
