My heart was broken when I heard the news the other day. What can I say? There was no truer nor loyal friend than Jay. I met him when times were dark and day by day we walked into the light together, laughing and crying all the way. Everyone that knew Jay knew he was larger than life in so many ways but his heart and love for his family, especially Anita, and his friends is what made him the special man that he was. If God was looking for a warrior to fight beside him, well, he found his man. I will always miss him, his laugh his love of life and his very presence in our world. Bye buddy, I will never forget!!!

Dear sweet Anita,
I am truly at a loss for words my friend. The very moment I met the two of you it felt as if I truly had known you all my life. Friends that I had not seen in a while but so very happy to see and be with again. You both enriched my life from the very first word of greeting.
I felt at home, at peace and had a feeling of joy and love right away. All stress was gone instantly. The visit was way too short, thanks to a hurricane back home, but I loved every minute. I miss Abby and Jake, Garfield, the Runt, mama, and lipstick and all the others too. Please send them my love.
But most of all, Brenda and MK miss Jay. His antics, his teasing, his singing, and his rhymes, all the things he did to welcome someone he had just met. I am grateful to meet the man that my husband, Joe, loves so dearly. I am grateful to have met the woman that stole Jay's heart and loves him with every bit of herself. You and Jay are a true blessing to know and an example of how God can work in a person's life to help us all see how love can truly be.
