I believe it has been well over 55 years since I last saw Sam, as I knew him. But this picture sure brings back some wonderful memories of my high school and junior college days as a classmate with his brother Ranier, and a friend of brother Peter. The smile was always there, as it is here. God Bless Sam!!! And to his family we say "remember the good times, they help to heal the sorrows."

Sam was a part of my "growing up in Chanute" experience, including church, school, scouts, sports, fishing and just being friends. I'm saddened to hear that he's passed on. I remember visiting Sam several times when he was in the Air Force and stationed in Wichita. His enthusiasm about being a service member influenced my decision to join the military a short time latter. As the years went on, I lost touch with Sam and last spoke to him about 6 years ago by phone and I was glad that I reconnected with him, even if it was brief. I'll always remember Sam and pray that he rests in peace and his family has my condolences for their loss. Larry Cook
