Yes, I have thought of you all and prayed for God's nearness during this time. A mother passing is a special time, yet it is a parting. Also a connectin with the deeper meaning of life, why we are here, and what we are doing with our time while we can. Like someone said recently, 'I knew I would get old, I just didn’t know it would happen so fast.
My memory goes back to when we were girls. Barbara was 3 yrs older than I. One christmas we got the chance to go to Uncle Gilberts for the eve. And night. We livved two and a half hrs away, and evidently grandmas house was full. One memory is going with her Bill, and Marvin to the pasture to bring in the cows for milking. At night my sister and I slept with Barbra in her bed. Back in those days 3 or 4 small (6th, 7th, n,8th graders)wasn't too many for a bed, if need be we just lined up ' across 'the bed. Then we had pancakes for breakfast.
Another treat we shared at their house was peanut butter and jelly on toast. Peanut butter was a real treat back in the day when you raised what you ate and only ate what you raised.
I remember being with her when she stayed for a few months at Uncle Dons.
Our paths crossed again when you children were small. Then we saw each other more often when she rented the house next to my mom.
I knew life w was not all so easy for her, but I always felt a heart attachment to her. I admiredher when I saw her teaching you children maners, but especially when I realized she was teaching you to pray. You could pray some really nice prayers , even at the table.
I don't know when praying became a part of her life, nor when she started you on that path, but it was something to be greatfull for.
I was sorry we missed the special day to be with you, but we do wish each of you wellg, and send our love and best wishes.
Sincerely, Arnold and Carolyn
