William W. (Bill) Estes' Obituary
William Wayne “Bill” Estes, age 86 of Altoona, died Sunday, August 3, 2014 at Golden Living in Neodesha. Bill was born on October 21, 1927 in Cherryvalle, Kansas the son of Arthur Ray and Hazel Ardella (Lewis) Estes.
Bill was a graduate of Neodesha High School class of 1945. After high school, Bill worked on his farm. March 1951 he joined the US Army and served as a medic until his discharge in January of 1953. On December 20, 1953 he married Barbara A. Nooney in Neodesha. Bill and Barbara were married for 60 years, she survives at their home.
Bill farmed and worked as a carpenter, and built many homes. He was very active in the community, he served for more than 20 years on the Wilson County Hospital Board. He also served as a board member for the Altoona-Midway Schools, Watershed Board, Neodesha Co-op, Grace Baptist Church and was a member of Gideon’s International.

13 Great Grandchildren:
Bill was preceded in death by his parents and brother Robert Estes and sister Marilyn Estes.
Cremation has been requested and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
