Wilma Marie Butler's Obituary
Wilma Marie Butler, age 79, of Chanute, passed away Thursday, July 31, 2014, at Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center, surrounded by her family. Wilma was born January 12, 1935 in Iola, KS the daughter of Harry and Gertrude (Hammond) Hulse.
After graduating high school, Wilma married Frank Genn and had three sons, they later divorced. She then married Walter Butler and they had two sons, and later divorced. Wilma worked at Wal-Mart early on, but mostly worked cleaning houses in the Chanute area. Her biggest job though was that of being mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Wilma is survived by her sons; Joe Genn and wife Debbie of Georgia, Bob Genn and wife Becky of Chanute, KS, Rick Genn and wife Linda of Sulphur Springs, AR, David Butler of Chanute, KS, Charles Butler and wife Patty of Chanute, KS., 8 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Wilma was preceded in death by her parents; Harry and Gertrude, brothers; Willard Burton, and Roy Austille, sisters; Elsie Genn, and Betty Culler, granddaughter; Janet Ann Butler, and great-grandson; Oran Genn.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 6, 2014 6-8 p.m. at Countryside Funeral Home- Johnson Chapel. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 7, 2014, 10:00 a.m. at Countryside Funeral Home-Johnson Chapel. Family suggests memorials to Chanute Meals on Wheels and may be left with or mailed to the funeral home.
